Yin Yoga teaches you how to become “the eye of the storm” so you can hold on no matter what chaos will run over your life. When everything around us is changing, when there is a storm of emotions or events when things around you are out of control – your inner compass will navigate your inner calm to hold on until storm passes and you find a new direction or solution.
How to go within into the eye of the storm?
This is one benefit that I teach my students during Yin Yoga classes. How to face your obstacles, not running around like a chicken, accepting all and face the reality as it is and go deep to listen to your inner wisdom to guide you out to the light.
My personal reflection
It was in 2010 when I started using Yin Yoga to anchor myself in my life situations to find my own way out. I was just one step from writing my Master degree thesis when I lost my well-paying job contract. Most people around me would give up saying “the time was not right” but I did the opposite. I was guided to go to Yin Yoga class; I set my intention for a class and asked for a guidance to show me a way to complete my work strong and with ease.

Every week I kept returning to yin yoga class to find stillness, strength and stability during the time of writing. I didn’t give up, I refused to run away, I held on and faced all of the obstacles, with tears in my eyes and my broken heart. I continued walking on my journey with increasing confidence and clarity….and suddenly my work was done: I crossed my fire walk and nothing hurt my feet.
After all, I desired to become a yoga teacher with Yin Yoga specialty to share and teach this magic with all, male and female students.

YIN YOGA is a style of yoga that activates the deeper connective tissues in order to open body and life restrictions in your existence — physically and energetically. Yin Yoga targets the connective tissues, such as the ligaments, bones, tendons and even the joints of the body that more active style of asana practice neglects.

Extra benefit: It allows you to connect with the divine female energy in your body as well as with deeper warmer side of you. In yin yoga, we use passive longer asanas held (typically 3 to 5 minutes.) These longer holds help the tissues of the body become more flexible or “juicy” and allow the energetic channels to be open. Yet it looks very simple but you will be positively challenged to stay in this still place to let the ego drop away and start listening to your own inner guidance. This “no doing” brings the ultimate enhancement in your body flexibility, intuitiveness and overall healing for body and soul.
