Although the summer is a slow time for yoga teaching, I am busier than ever building the foundation for my fall yoga class in 2023. It is my summer rendezvous with my yoga friends and friends to be. I put SARCOPENIA in it a core of my yoga workshop, The Science of Healthy Stretching. ‘Freshly baked’ it came out as a nice blend of health science, yoga wisdom and digital technology of now.
THE BACKGROUND STORY of this event
“It was a winter evening Hatha Stretch class, and one of my students asked me, “Why do I need to stretch myself daily, and what’s the difference between stretch and flexibility?” Why am I so stiff? Looking at my student, I realized that this topic needed to be addressed on a deeper level, rather than just by demonstrating poses during class. This moment became a birthplace of this workshop, where a seed of creative was planted in me.

A Sneak Peak
Simply saying – it is a human body aging when we start experiencing muscle weakness and losing our precious stamina. Movement, lifestyle changes and healthy stretching can help combat sarcopenia – slowing down the effects of aging.
Based on medical research, this process starts at the age of 30 – slowly but we do not pay any attention to it; we are busy living. In our 40th, we do our best to ignore it, but once we hit the age bracket of 50+ and above, we experience symptoms of sarcopenia in full swing.
I am pleased to have this opportunity to share wisdom and information on how to navigate life to maintain flexibility, mobility, and strength to minimize the effect of sarcopenia on your life. We all want to stay body confident with a happy mind as long as possible. This workshop is built through the lens of Hatha Yoga but also through fitness and the nursing rehab community experience I have gathered during my professional life.
