Last summer, I began the Aging Well wellness series by addressing the physical aspects of the human body, with stretching as our first focus. This year, I chose to expand our presenting concept and the body-mind-spirit spectrum, propelling us to new heights.

“ Good evening all Seekers for Healthy Aging!” I thanked everyone for joining me. It is always a mystery, a nerve-racking moment, facing my class for the first time and thinking, “Who are they?” I saw them as a gift from the Divine, as Rumi’s poet stated:
“ Be grateful for whoever comes,
because each has been sent
as a guide from a beyond.”
My workshop was filled, and I was pleased to see a good mix of male and female participants (50+) eager to learn. As our voyage progressed, we gradually removed our protective armors to reveal our genuine selves.
We were inspired by Clint Eastwood, 94 yr., saying: “I don’t let the old man in. I keep myself busy. You have to stay active, alive, happy, strong, capable. I don’t let in the old critic, hostile, envious, gossiping, full of rage and complaints, of lack of courage, which denies to itself that old age can be creative, decisive, full of light and projection”.

It didn’t take long time for us to meet in the middle: I, as a group leader, was moving us forward, holding a “PPP clicker” in my hand as a navigating light – a slide by slide – we moved through the jungle of health guidance, statistics, and protocols until everything was thoroughly explained in a simple comprehensive protocol. Finally, I allowed myself to say “It’s time to download everything into our bones, let us move and breathe together.”
As a former nurse and active yoga/meditation instructor, I guide individuals with joy and ease. This is my domain! I introduced three engagement exercises to “non-yoga, or healing art lovers” group as a demonstration of what natural science and yoga wisdom can do for them when taught correctly. We had arrived at our final destination – Mission Accomplished!
Some comments from feedback forms
“It looks like movement has always been a driving force in Veronika’s life. She stressed breath, grounding and balancing elements. Sharing our insights in a circle allowed us to see amazing benefits of yoga, meditation and healthy lifestyle. With healthy protein + resistance workout now I know I can pave my way to the Golden Age.” ~ Female, 68yrs.
“Veronika’s workshop felt like a breath of fresh air. Her beautiful smile and soothing, loving voice communicated knowledge and life’s wisdom. All of this enhanced listener consciousness, much like a calm mantra, particularly through yoga meditation at the end.” ~ Male, 66 yrs. RegenClinic
Two hours flew by, and we all felt a new energy change between our hearts, like when strangers had become friends, ready to share more moments together.
I suggested my Monday’s evening Hatha Stretch with Breath as a next step on their wellness journey, or perhaps our next workshop in 2025 – The Science of Healthy Aging: Brain vs. Mind – will be a location where we can meet again?
Without any doubt, the new series “Happy Mind” will provide me with lots of topics to write about. I hope to see you there: the same location, same time! (Oak Bay Monterey/July 2025).

Until that time,
Veronika Prielozna, C-IAYT
